This show features the work of Corinne Breton, Yoojung Jung, Aubrey Metcalfe and Xander Stewart. The cumulative work of these artists share a common thread: movement through time. Through installation, sculpture and time-based media artwork, each artist explores ways to communicate time as means of universal understanding. Breton is also interested in the objectivity of chance and how distancing oneself from making subjective decisions can induce natural creativity. She uses time-based media in the form of digital projections to explore these themes. Jung captures the essence of life using highly saturated colors and symbols drawn from everyday life. She uses installation and mixed media to illustrate these ideas. Metcalfe uses sculpture to explore ideas of movement and pushes the boundary between the animate and the inanimate. Stewart has designed an interactive cymatic station as well as photograms that reveal evidence of sound frequencies in water.
