As classes begin, remember to download one of the best SCAD safety tools, the free MySCAD app, which features easy access to LiveSafe, SafeRide and Transloc, as well as maps of each SCAD location. Now available on iTunes, the MySCAD app is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

SCAD campus safety and security has always provided the safest learning environment possible through state-of-the-art security technology and 24/7 campus monitoring. This quarter, the department is introducing a new online conversation series to keep students and parents informed about its leading-edge approach to campus safety.

Current students and parents are invited to participate in the first online session 3–4 p.m., Friday, Jan. 8, 2016. Join the conversation with Savannah Director of SCAD campus safety and security John Buckovich, Atlanta Dean of Students Art Malloy and Savannah Dean of Students David Blake as they review safety and security initiatives and answer your questions about how SCAD provides a safe and open college experience.

SCAD values the expert leaders in the security field who guide our campus safety and security. Buckovich has more than 30 years of law enforcement and senior police management experience, and has overseen training of first responders and military personnel at the Army National Guard. John Crowe, director of security in Atlanta, Hong Kong and Lacoste, has more than 20 years of experience in the security industry, including work for the FBI and advanced crime trend research.
