Reimagining artistic standards at ‘Big Think: The Debate’ | 4.4.2017 | 11 a.m. | Arnold Hall Theater | Savannah, GA

Listen as liberal arts professor John Valentine and painting professor Steve Knudsen consider how we think about contemporary art by debating the question, “Do objective standards have any currency?”

In the artistic and critical pluralism engendered by metamodernism and postmodernism, does anything constructive come from judging artistic domains? Judgment requires criteria of aesthetic and critical quality — are such criteria meaningful and productive today?

This event, sponsored by the liberal arts department, is free and open to SCAD Card holders.
